Polyhedral tile layouts that split a 360° sphere for diffusion

A template is the polyhedral mesh that splits the sphere into tiles — camera poses, inpaint masks, and blend masks. Diffusion runs per tile in sphere-space. Output size is a separate setting (new renders default to 8192×4096). The template name is not a 2K / 3K / 4K resolution.
Each pass in a Multipass stack can use a different template.
How to choose
Open the Hextile tab and pick from the template menu. A new render starts on Dodecahedron (12 tiles) unless you picked something else last time.
The menu has four sections:
- Custom Templates — ones you generated or imported
- Regular — the six factory shapes you use every day (open)
- Irregular — six more factory shapes (collapsed)
- Legacy Templates — old TILEGEN layouts (collapsed; see the footnote)
Footer actions: Templates (library) and New Template.
Regular factory templates
Start here. Cube for structure, Dodecahedron for daily work, Truncated_Icosahedron when you want hex density, Goldberg when you want a polish pass.

Factory tile masks are 1024×1024. Changing output width does not change the template.

Templates and Multipass
Density is the product idea: a coarser template at higher strength, then a denser template at lower strength. Factory Presets name that ladder — 12 → 32 is the daily driver (Dodecahedron, then Truncated_Icosahedron). Geometry templates do not embed a pass stack. See Multipass.
New Template
Factory templates are frozen outputs of the built-in generator. New Template runs that same generator and writes a custom template. No Blender or external tools.
Fourteen shapes. Twelve match the factory dirs above. Two have no factory dir — generate them yourself:

Knobs (as labelled in the form):
- Tile Resolution — Draft 512 / Standard 1024 / Production 2048 (256–4096)
- FOV margin, overlap, overlap opacity
- Inpaint Blur Radius, blend blur, blend clip
- Rotation X / Y / Z, up direction
- Camera Blender or UnrealEngine
- Tile ordering: latitude rings, reverse, spiral, original
A coverage preview shows how the tiles sit on the sphere before you generate.
Manage from the Templates library: Duplicate, import/export ZIP, Delete (custom only), Regenerate (not legacy), Restore Factory (factory override only). Factory and legacy names are locked.
Legacy Templates
Four old TILEGEN layouts still ship, collapsed under Legacy Templates. They are not the product. Prefer the factory polyhedra.

The 2K / 3K / 4K suffix was intended panorama size, not tile pixel size. Face counts are cousins of live factory shapes (20 ≈ Icosahedron, 32 ≈ Truncated_Icosahedron, 44 ≈ Chamfered_Dodecahedron at 42) — the geometry is not the same. They cannot be regenerated. Duplicate to customize.
