Updates

360 Hextile checks for updates when it starts and lets you install when you are ready. Updates are not downloaded in the background or applied on a later restart without your consent.

Checking for Updates

About five seconds after launch, the app checks for a newer build on your selected channel. When one is available, Software Update offers Install Update.

You can also open Software Update yourself: use the header hamburger Menu → Check for Updates…. The update channel is chosen in that modal, not in Settings.

Installing an Update

Click Install Update when you are ready. The app downloads the installer and verifies it. Then choose Open installer to start the handoff, or Cancel to keep the app open.

Windows may request administrator permission. Once the installer starts, the app closes. The installer then installs the update and restarts 360 Hextile. If the app does not reopen, open it manually.

The app does not silent-download updates or install them on a later restart. Installation starts only when you click Open installer.

Channels

Choose your update channel in the Software Update modal:

• Production — Stable releases only. Recommended for most users.
• Beta — Beta and stable builds; the newest semver wins.
• Alpha — Alpha, beta, and stable; the newest semver wins.

Switching to Production does not downgrade a newer installed preview build.

Version Compatibility

Newer app versions open older .hextile.json project files in normal use. This page is not a format guarantee.
