Alpha release. Experimental build. Not for production use — features may break or change before stabilising.

v1.2.0-alpha

Alpha

Create, craft tools, 360 video viewer, Layers, and Batch

First 1.2 alpha. Create stills from image, LoRA, pattern, fractal, or sequence. Play 360 / fulldome video on the sphere. Layers, Spot, Mirror, Kaleidoscope, GPU-fit models, Batch, and live grade.

This is the first public 1.2 alpha. 1.2 is the craft-surface train: start a panorama from Create, play a 360 video on the same sphere, then stay there to transform, paint spots, stack layers, and grade. Batch workflows, Mini Tiles, GPU-fit model picking, and a live 360 Log sit on the same desk. Early preview. Expect rough edges. This installer is also the first 1.2 updater baseline — a later 1.2 alpha should appear in Help → Check for Updates.

Create

Header +CREATE opens the source picker. Each card is a full workshop.

Import Image — Start a render from an image file (PNG or JPG, up to 8K). Recents sit on the card so a previous still is one click away.

360 LoRA — Generate a render using a 360° panorama LoRA. Pick the LoRA, run a batch of variations, promote one into a hextile render. Scrollspy keeps the long form oriented. Older recipes still open. 360 Redmond stays on the Generate dropdown. Minted recipes carry prompt.global from the seed.

Pattern — Render from a procedurally generated pattern. 107 GPU generators and 365 built-in presets: noise, fractals, hydraulic erosion, reaction-diffusion, quasicrystals, wrap-a-tile onto the sphere, and more. Paint a seamless 2:1 seed on the GPU, then send it into diffusion.

Fractal — Start a render from a live 360 fractal. Formula, look remaps, glow, and wrap-column work happen on the sphere. Capture a frame from the explorer and begin a render from that still. The in-house 360 viewer is the fractal surface.

Solid Color — Start a render from a flat base color. Pick the color, then let hextile and the prompt invent the world.

Sequence — Pro. Render a sequence of frames with motion, then export to video. Infinite zoom, image morph, and folder or video ingest (stills or an MP4) live here. Activate a Pro license to run sequences.

Typical first session: +CREATE → Pattern or Import Image → set prompt / hextile / diffusion on the dashboard → Render → double-click the panorama to work on the sphere.

360 video viewer

Open an equirectangular or fulldome video on the same sphere as stills. File → Open (or drop) an MP4; the viewer detects the source projection and plays it in place.

  • Playback: play / pause, seek, frame step, loop, volume
  • Double-click toggles fullscreen. In fullscreen, chrome comes back from the edges
  • Fulldome sources fit the dome FOV instead of stretching like a 2:1 wrap
  • Recents reopen the last videos after a restart
  • Copilot hides for the video session so the player chrome stays clean
  • Grab a still from the video into a render; generated video frames can promote into the library

Video mode is a player, not a diffusion pass. Leave it to return to the craft tools on a still.

Tools

Double-click a render to put the 360 viewer in front. The craft bar along the bottom runs left to right: size, transform, tiles and spot, layers and grade, export. Each bake commits a new graph node. Shared Commit / Discard / Exit. Wait pills for Opening and Saving. A 360 Log card stays visible while Post Process, Transform, and Resize wait.

Resize

Absolute Size destinations and native-relative Upscale factors (Real-ESRGAN) in one popover. Size and upscale land as distinct graph nodes, so you can step back. Picking a destination closes the popover. The Output pill follows graph HEAD.

De-Pinch

Repair seam pinching at the poles. Strength, curve, and radius stay put when you flip North ↔ South — shape one cap, then the other.

Offset

Re-center the panorama. Yaw, pitch, and roll the whole sphere so the subject, horizon, or seam sits where you want it.

Warp

Spherical Möbius warp: zoom about an aim point, plus twist. Aim at view center, then bake.

Mirror

Copy one side across a great-circle seam. Two operations:

  • Mirror one side — fold the kept half across the seam
  • Reflect sphere — reflect the whole sphere through that axis

Orientation: Vertical, Horizontal, or Free (yaw / pitch). Copy and paste settings. Live overlay on the sphere.

Kaleidoscope

A Transform-caret tool on the 360 toolbar. Repeat or fold the panorama around an aim point.

  • Radial — repeat a spherical source wedge around the aim (segments, phase, source angle)
  • Spherical — fold through a finite mirror group: Dihedral sphere, Tetrahedral, Octahedral, Icosahedral

Aim yaw and pitch on the sphere, then bake.

Tiles

Select a hextile face and render a focused preview. Overlay on the sphere; thumbnails on render detail.

Mini Tiles on the desk: the live tile is the hero with a white scan sheen. Last-four previews sit behind a Recent caret. Log lives under Tiles. Confirm row is Discard, Commit Tile, Cancel.

MiniLog on Render Detail shows six lines. Load stages speak during diffusion initialize — heartbeat, template shout, WebSocket log replay. Stage-only lines stay LOADING ….

Spot

Paint-select a tile and regenerate it in place. Click a point on the sphere, get a tile-sized AI inpaint, preview, then promote. Brush and overlay stay on the 360 surface. The interactive loop (place → preview → accept) is the path in this alpha.

Layers

Place and order image stickers on the 360 sphere. PNG, JPEG, WebP, or SVG (SVG stays as re-raster provenance; pixels are PNG). Drop files onto the sphere, place with yaw/pitch, then:

  • Opacity, 19 blend modes, visibility, reorder, duplicate, copy/paste
  • Multi-select, align / distribute / match
  • Per-layer tone and alpha ops, effects stack, crop-transparent
  • Cutout from the Layers caret — auto-mask a target and stack on committed HEAD
  • Add image stacks on the current committed picture

Exit is the mint. Leaving Layers dumps the live composite and parks an in-progress take on the graph. Commit finalizes (emerald). Discard is the red trash on the dropup, with a confirm. Opening / Saving wait pills cover bind and teardown. If dump fails, Layers stays armed and asks you to retry Exit.

Soft cap 16 layers (toast), hard cap 64. Output bake is PNG. After a committed Layer Set you can Create new Layer Set or Edit previous layers.

Parked Layers takes use one overlay card in Render Detail and fullscreen. Preview composites the saved sheets over the selected graph node at quarter, half, or full resolution, with Auto, End, and sheet-visibility controls.

Post Process

Idle click opens the dropup. Caret lists Favorites, Recent (last committed config, silent restore), a curated Adjustments set, then Browse all.

Thirty-three hooks in seven families. They run as a hextile sweep (whole-image for pointwise and channel hooks) and paint live on the sphere. Commit promotes a postprocess node; repeat to stack. The derivation graph is the chain. Commit collapses chrome and keeps the live look while persist finishes. A failed sweep or persist drops the live look. Re-arm waits until the persist lease is free.

Live parameter wells in this alpha:

  • Gradient Map — source / gradient / blend wells plus a 1D LUT baker
  • HSL Adjustment
  • ACES Tonemap
  • Split Toning
  • Channel Mixer
  • Color Grade (LUT) — library of 46 bundled .cube looks, user import, favorite star, thumbs sampled from graph HEAD

Browse all for the rest of the catalog: Detail (Unsharp Mask, CLAHE, Real-ESRGAN Detail, bilateral / guided / edge-preserving smooth, frequency separation), Color (white balance, levels, vibrance, brightness/contrast), Film (grain, chromatic grain, sensor noise, denoise+regrain, halation), Lens (bloom, chromatic aberration), Noise (blue-noise dither, noise toolkit, procedural noise), Artistic (Kuwahara, stylization, reaction-diffusion, Turing dither/texture).

Eyedropper on every colour field. LUT Library favorite star updates and persists.

Reframe

Open the viewfinder to crop and re-frame. Gnomonic (rectilinear) or stereographic, with a GPU spotlight of the frustum on the sphere. Pan / tilt / roll / horizontal FOV, then export or C for a Quick Shot into that render’s reframe strip. Stays armed after export so you can take a set.

What's new

Work landed after the first 1.2 notes snapshot.

360 video viewer — Equirect and fulldome playback on the sphere, projection detect, fullscreen double-click, edge chrome, recents after restart, frame grab into a render.

GPU-fit models — Header pipeline picker lists workflows the current GPU can run first. Edit sits above Diffusion. Installed-fit cards, delayed model cards, and a left-side default pin. Active selection survives refresh.

Batch workflows — File menu Batch workflows… opens an independent modal. Pick a workflow (starter recipes or a saved one), point at files or a folder, preflight, then queue. Jobs appear in the header queue. Crash recovery keeps a durable FIFO. Watch published items as they land. Drop files onto the open modal.

Leave, then RENDER — Exit a craft tool and fire RENDER in one motion. The tool admits the leave (commit or park), then the new pass starts. Commit selected still admits RENDER when HEAD moves on the same render.

Commit persist-later — Accept the look now; the graph write finishes in the background. The 360 Log stays up during Post Process, Transform, and Resize waits.

FLUX.2 Klein — Distilled Klein CFG slider tops out at 4; Base uses true CFG when guidance is above 1. Strength default 0.5, with preset ticks from 0.33. Typed CFG and steps accept values past the slider band. Arithmetic flow-blend mixes semantic direction on Klein.

LoRA modules — Each Module row has an enable toggle and a strength number on the slider. Trash sits left of the toggle and appears on hover. Chrome matches DiffusionModule.

Templates — Factory picker splits Regular and Irregular. Rotated Dodecahedron is gone; Dodecahedron remains. New renders default to the last template you used, or Dodecahedron.

Same as Input — Uses the viewed / HEAD canvas.

Style prompts — Enter on a new style prompt saves it and starts the next empty style.

File compatibility — Renders show format status. Incompatible documents refuse mutation. Pin a default pipeline and reset it from settings. Untouched renders adopt the pinned pipeline.

Library — Singles grid is windowed. Overlay Back keeps the list. Source-op thumbs pin to base.jpg and retry immediately.

Library, graph, Copilot

Renders — singles, sequences, 360-LoRA batches, fractals. Detail pages carry the graph, tile thumbs, and the same toolbar as the sphere. Sit-back panel title is Render viewport.

Projects — project list and recents, plus configure and sequence-detail cards.

Derivation graph — every Commit (transform, layers, post-process, upscale, spot) is a node. HEAD is what you see. Live previews sample HEAD.

Copilot — in-app chat that answers, patches live settings, navigates, and can run a closed Layers operation when you ask. Bring your own Claude or OpenAI key, or use the licensed server path (rate-limited).

Fixes

  • Layers bind and Exit teardown: canvas lock; Windows dest swap via atomic replace. Dump failure stays armed.
  • LUT Library favorite star updates and persists.
  • Typed Real-ESRGAN OOM. Upscale acquires gpu_lock on the worker thread, evicts other GPU owners, and unloads 360 LoRA while that lock is held.
  • Pillow bomb avoided on multipass 8× overshoot.
  • Live post-process previews sample from graph HEAD. Failed Commit sweep or persist drops the live look. Re-arm refused while persist lease is held. Hero URL binds before persist teardown.
  • Layers previews keep the selected source, resolution, and Auto preference across tool changes and stale-request races.
  • Render Detail and fullscreen share preview status and the same hero/sphere presentation; superseded work and server leases are cleaned up.
  • Graph delete confirmation, compact Layers controls, and template-picker sizing and hover states are corrected.
  • Resize close-on-pick; upscale settle is no longer a 500.
  • Cancel a live pass without a false Failed to stop / Render failed.
  • Sequence boot save no longer overwrites historical config sidecars. Config ETag follows tile promote; 409 recovers without a stale PUT.
  • 360 LoRA mint seeds prompt.global from the recipe. 360 Redmond stays on Generate.
  • New-tag form stays open after leaving the Tags submenu.
  • Library overlay hide keeps completed thumb src. Grid window clamps to the last page when the list shrinks.
  • Recipe cards stay mounted across Tiles preview/commit. Historical sequence configs missing recipe objects still admit.
  • License activation on the diamond modal offers a stacked option set instead of a single cramped path.
  • Render log load rows shorten to LOADING - [message] so the model name is not truncated.
  • Video player chrome stays isolated from craft tools; dome-fit fulldome; overlay veto does not drop the video.

Alpha notes

Craft-surface rewrite. Spot neighbor re-render, some GPU acceptance, and a pile of edge cases are still in flight. If a tool wait-pills forever or Exit refuses to park, send the log from Help → Send Feedback.
